Concept I am going to create a 2d + 3d animation trailer called “The distance between A and B” for the major project which begin in next semester. For this brief open assignment, I will do some research on different aspect of the animation such as art style and some technical issues.

The storyline of “the distance between A and B” is about a guy has been waiting for his girlfriend to call from America. The setting is set when a sudden call was made while he was on the train, but he realised the phone was on low battery. Being excited and anxious, he got off the train and rushed to the public phone to answer the call. In this animation, I want to show the difficulty of maintaining a distant relationship. The emphasis of the story is their subtle feelings being conveyed through phone and internet, which also alienate and further isolate their fragile connection.

In “The distance between A and B” I will focus more on the background than the character; the reason is that I prefer to use the still images to tell the story and also emphasis the atmosphere of the environment. Each background in this animation is all create bases on a real photograph.
